About Us

Te Vaka Tours is an indigenous-owned cultural tour operator based in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. We specialise in small-group open-air safari tours and private charters that share the story of Te Vaka / The Waka and the seven vaka that travelled through the Cook Islands to Aotearoa. Led by local owner-operator Tita Teei, our experiences connect guests with marae, inner-road history, Cook Islands Māori language, local kai (nu, uto, fruits, umu) and warm manaakitanga. Tours start and finish at Muri Beach, with optional resort pick-up available. Ideal for New Zealand Māori reconnecting with whakapapa, international visitors seeking authentic culture, and whānau or group bookings.
